Hello Schuylkill Valley Youth Baseball Families,
While we just kicked off summer officially on the calendar and finished our spring baseball seasons, we cannot forget about our fall baseball season. We will once again be joining the Berks Fall League that will produce our fall schedule and match us with evenly based opponents.
Registration is NOW OPEN and will close at 11:59pm on July 31st.
This year we are offering the following levels based upon interest.
T-Ball (6U) - this is for our kids just starting out and learning the basics of the game.
Coach Pitch (8u) – this is for our kids that are transitioning from the ball level or getting ready to make the next steps to the kid pitch and minors level.
Minors (10u) – this is for our kids coming out of kid pitch and making the transition closer to real baseball. This is a full kid pitch level.
Majors (12u) – this is for getting our kids making the next steps to a real baseball game and ultimately school baseball or the older level.
***please note there is no Kid Pitch level*** - the reason for changing from our spring registration is based upon the history with the BFL is that a “kid pitch” level is not offered for this season. For this season, you should register your child based upon years played and level they will be registered for in spring 2024. For the younger kids, we would recommend that they register for the Coach Pitch level and for ones that are going to play kid pitch or minors in the spring, we recommend that they participate in the minors level for fall.
Team Construction – we would like to be clear as to how the Berks Fall League schedules teams and how SVYB will construct teams. BFL schedules teams that are ranked between A through D. With this ranking, SVYB will be constructing teams this way also. For example, a team that has just moved from t-ball in the spring to coach pitch in the fall will be ranked as a D level team since they are on the younger side and new to this level. For a team that has played coach pitch or first year kid pitch in the spring, they will be ranked as an A level team. This will be done with each level between Coach Pitch and Majors. We will construct these rankings as best as possible with the development and enjoyment of your child in mind.
If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to [email protected]. Also, board members will be taking vacations during this time, so please be patient with any delayed responses.
Thank you,
